In 2012 Director Geoff Hales was given the opportunity to develop and deliver a presentation on ‘Achieving Savings through Asset Management’ at three regional local government asset management forums facilitated by the Local Government Association of Queensland. Geoff commented how he found there were many examples of good asset management practices in place, but far less examples where the benefits had been readily identified and acknowledged. Nonetheless, through his own experiences and that of his network of colleagues, Geoff was able to outline many examples where savings had been achieved.
